FRI 24/8/2007
The day started well with my need to get music ready for my DJ guest spot.
The rest of the day was pretty much me in my room assembling and burning music from my computer. It was the student newspaper (Hugin) party.
Some were pleased and jovial and others made me work to entertain them and the smallish crowd. It is never a picnic to DJ especially with a ten year gap.

WED/ THURS 22 & 23/8/2007
The beginning for me was the International food day for which I cooked rice and peas and forgot to take pics; and then the go-cart races and evening festivities.
The rest is as they say history. Even the Rektor(Chancellor) of the University Aslaug Mikkelsen (below) was in on the action.
The night involved a pub crawl which I opted out of but did join the revellers for the after party.
Thursday involved a day beach trip which I opted out of, and an evening beach party. No one dressed up for!!!

Tuesday 21/8/2007
Tuesday saw a more relaxed approach with a poker and backgammon afternoon with prizes; the rest of the evening consisting of a Karaoke night. I managed an awful rendition of Madonna's 'Like a Virgin' before being asked to be in the Spice Girls reunion as Scary Spice for a Spanish duo as a backing dancer.......pics to follow..

We (Exchange students) were introduced to the third year students and met our buddy student for Praksis. 
We went for lunch in one of the many SiS Kafe's on campus with two students off to Canada(above).
The'Safe sex' message is very evident around campus.
The evening hosted a concert at Folken(Student Pub) with Janove Ottesen, which unfortunately I missed. I did have a chat with him and hope to see him next time round.

Thurs- Sun 13-19/8/2007
This was the the end of the first FADDER (Sponsor) week; A
student buddy who is allocated to a particular course and introduces you to cultural/social activities .
This night which featured a live band and tmuch dancing, ended with a chartered bus trip from the Uni to the Folken, the student haven in town (pic.to come soon). Friday was quieter and then Saturday the hope that England would win against the French was shattered(well Australia wasn't playing!!). That was a lone trip which ended with me meeting Maja's friends including an Englishman in an up market bar whose clientele included a very drunk Scotsman.
Sunday as usual almost everything is closed....ahhh.

WED 15/8/2007
The rain returned with a vengeance and I had the opportunity to test out my rain gear.Made the 20min walk in to the Uni to take part in the 'Beat It' fitness class...(Nobody mentioned the kicking!!!)
Apparently a bit of a storm last night caused havoc rocked the tents and broke the flagpole. A little rest and then on to the evening Spinning class with a different instructor.
Evening soiree at Ugleveien 9 testing out my new computer speakers.

The nursing course meeting and the beginning of Fadder(sponsor) week.
We met all the lecturers for our subjects and had a tour of the nursing facilities.
Great set-up and high-tech arrangements; hope to get permission for photos when in use.
Great day of activities concerts bbq's and of course the beer tent.....
followed by an evening at Folken.

Not much on rest day
First day of training.....attended a spinning class which consists of great music and some hard pedalling on a gym bike for one hour. You certainly do sweat!!.

SUNDAY 12th Aug
Well what can I say, I suggest you look at the pictures.
We visited the beach at Sola, pit stop at Bjerkheim and saw a couple of classic cadillacs.
Stopped for some climbing along the way before heading to Manofossen waterfall and home.
